'Politics Matters' to Start Airing on PBS Station in Va.

WVPT’s Channel 11 will soon be airing “Politics Matters” with Jan Paynter. The first show will run at 11:30 a.m. Sunday on the PBS channel.

The guest for the first show on PBS will be John W. Whitehead, president and founder of the Rutherford Institute, a locally based civil liberties group with national scope. The program will look at issues including free speech.

Paynter created the show in 2009, and it focuses on interviewing officials, scholars, candidates and private citizens. It has been airing on Charlottesville Television Channel 13.
